TRAININGS

We are offering 3 free virtual trainings between now and the end of 2025 to build capacity for organizers, community leaders, and movement builders! Our workshops on grant writing, fundraising, and reporting will equip new and seasoned organizers alike with tools to sustain their work.

Our first training on grant writing will be led by Sherrie Hart (they/them/naya) from Emergent Fund on September 18th from 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST.

Sherrie Anne Hart (they/them) is a queer, nonbinary Puerto Rican/Thai organizer, trainer, and Co-Director of Movement Building at Emergent Fund based on the traditional lands of the Massachusett (Boston, MA). While they are new to philanthropy, Sherrie has over twelve years of experience in organizing across mutual aid, herbal farm projects, facilitation/training, curriculum development, tactical media, and direct action. In 2014, they co-founded the FANG Collective, a direct action organization that supported, built, and escalated resistance at the intersections of the fracked gas industry, military industrial complex, pol(ICE) and prisons. They have worked alongside communities directly impacted by climate change and harmful systems, centering relationship building and frontline leadership. These days they continue to grow as an organizer, develop curriculum, and train for The Ruckus Society.
