The Asian American Institute 2025 is a day-long experience designed to build the power and solidarity practices of LGBTQ+ Asian American grassroots individuals and groups across the country and diaspora.

 

We aim to foster solidarity, advocacy, and organizing practices among LGBTQ+ Asian American leaders, encouraging collective understanding, shared vision, and principled solidarity. Participants will explore and engage with strategies for individual and organizational capacity building to deepen our collective appreciation of the unique experiences, histories, and challenges within the movement in order to foster mutual support and trust.

 

Through facilitated workshops and collaborative discussions, attendees will assess current practices and identify new tools and resource needs to strengthen our networks.

 

Through a focus on advocacy and community organizing, participants will identify actionable steps that advance intersectional equity and justice within their work, as well as reflective practices to better tell our stories.

 

By the end of the day, attendees will leave with a clear understanding of solidarity under the LGBTQ+ Asian American umbrella, a clearer vision for advocacy and organizing, and a strengthened ability to tell our stories.
