Travel and Housing Assistance – 2015 National Conference

Travel_Housing_web

We know that it can be hard for some people to get the conference, and NQAPIA wants to be as supportive as possible.

REGISTRATION SCHOLARSHIPS

At NQAPIA, we believe that money should never be a barrier to participating. Partial and full registration scholarships for those with limited incomes are available.

Priority will be given to traditionally underrepresented groups, including people of transgender experience, young people, South Asians, Southeast Asians, Pacific Islanders, refugees, immigrants, women, people from the South, Desert, Mountain, and Plain states, as well as invited workshop presenters.

Notifications will occur on a rolling basis beginning July 1.

TRAVEL SUPPORT

At this time, NQAPIA has extremely limited funds to provide support to cover flights to Chicago. This funding is reserved for the most underrepresented groups in the most under-resourced communities. Our priorities are leaders of transgender experience, Pacific Islanders, Southeast Asians, South Asians, immigrants, and refugees. We are still fundraising until the conference. If all goes well, we hope to offer a bit more, but for now, we are unsure about any additional support.

Email coordinator@nqapia.org to inquire.

HOUSING ASSISTANCE

Free community housing is available. To inquire, complete this form http://bit.do/NQAPIAhousing2015 or email coordinator@nqapia.org.

NQAPIA MEMBER GROUPS ONLY

With the generous support of foundations to support the capacity building of LGBT AAPI groups, NQAPIA is able to provide one hotel room at the Crowne Plaza for three nights for each of the LGBT Asian American, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander organizations across the country. Each room can accommodate up to 4 persons. Contact Glenn Magpantay at glenn_magpantay@nqapia.org or call 917-439-3158 for more information.

FUNDRAISING SUPPORT

To help you get to the conference, NQAPIA can serve as a fiscal sponsor for any groups seeking a tax-exempt [501(c)(3)] non-profit organization to accept foundation grants or tax-deductible donations. Funds can be earmarked for a specific organization, city, or constituency. To learn more, contact Glenn Magpantay at glenn_magpantay@nqapia.org or call 917-439-3158.

DONATIONS

If you are able, would you kindly make a donation to support others to attend the conference?
