Conference Updates

Greetings!

We are excited for our upcoming 2012 NQAPIA Conference: Presence, Power, Progress!  We will post logistical and programmatic information about the conference as we head into the final weeks.

Here is some information about our special pre-Conference Events:

White House Briefing for AAPI LGBT Leaders and Organizations

The White House Office of Public Engagement and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders is holding a special briefing for AAPI LGBT leaders and organizations.  Representatives from federal agencies, the Obama Administration, and AAPI LGBT organizations will talk about the issues of concern in our community and interact with our communities.  The Briefing will be on Thursday, July 19 in the afternoon from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.

NQAPIA is working with the White House to include our conference participants.  The White House will be sending out invitations shortly and RSVP’ing as soon as possible is highly recommended.  Space is limited and attendees will need to provide specific information for security clearance.

Pre-Conference Convenings

NQAPIA is holding special Pre-Conference Convenings that will address particular needs for certain sectors of the AAPI LGBT community.

The three convening are:

• Queer Desi Community Building, Organizing, & Planning Roundtable
• Faith Based Leaders Working Group Convening
• Parents Convening
