NQAPIA Accepting Proposals for 2013 Community Catalyst Awards

Every year, the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) presents the annual Community Catalyst Award to an organization or an individual who has demonstrated a track record of support for Asian American, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities. In 2013, we look forward to holding our Awards Gala in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi as part of our annual Summit: Leadership Training and Issue Briefing on July 27, 2013.

2010 Community Catalyst Award Recipient Lola Lai Jong from Chicago, IL

For the 2013 Awards, we are inviting people to suggest names of potential awardees and your help is appreciated! Criteria for selection include: substantive work in AAPI LGBT communities, and name recognition/ ability to help fundraising efforts. Awardees must also be able to be physically present to receive the award (travel support may be arranged). A direct connection to potential awardee will help their proposal (if you’ve got Margaret Cho’s cell number, let us know!).

We are accepting proposals for a limited time, so get your suggestions in now!
