Marching with a Sense of History

The first week of March represents a transition from February and Black History Month to March as Women’s History Month.  March 8, is recognized as International Women’s Day. If you haven’t seen Google’s video celebrating the day, it’s definitely a keeper. We’re proud that our friend Cecilia Chung and our fancrush Janet Mock are featured there.

This month, we’re celebrating this transition in a couple of particular ways. At the end of the month, our Community Catalyst Award will honor fabulous women and queer activists who have been exemplary leaders in Asian American, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) LGBT communities.  Q-WAVE, celebrating their 10 year anniversary, Namita Chad, and Andy Marra will receive all the queer AAPI love we can muster on March 29, and we hope you can join us.

In March, we also enter the final phase of planning for our first Regional Summit, where we will be taking in the rich history of African American civil rights in Atlanta on April 4-6. If you are in the South and want to join us, click here.

They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. We’re glad you’re roaring with us to start the month off right!

MARCHing forward,

Ben de Guzman
